I have so many pictures I don't know where or how to begin! I know they won't all fit in one book. I've been saving them since like 2003/2004 and I've got pictures of many different categories (family, school/friends, pets, many individual ones of me). I got a scrapbook I haven't used yet, its old and the cover is plain white and a bit dirty but I figure I can somehow cover it creatively. It's relatively small for a scrapbook. I was also thinking about getting a binder since I usually find myself contemplating the order of my pictures (I have tried scrapbooking before but I would always damage the pages moving pics). A binders probably better for me but I don't want to use plain computer paper. I might buy some page protectors and stick the pages in the page protectors even though for some categories like friends I have MANY more pictures then I do of family and I want to be sure I have enough room for them all. So after my rambling, I'm just looking for some tips on how you suggest I should start.
Since you have so many pictures in back log you might consider digital scrapbooking, especially if your craft space isn't a dedicated craft space i.e. just a kitchen table. I really like Arc Soft. I played around with their application tonight and had a ball, and I had never tried digital scrapbooking before. If you do have a dedicated space for a craft room or even half a room, consider hybrid scrapbooking or regular scrapbooking; hybrid scrapbooking combines computer skill and paper scrapbooking, so you get the efficiency and creativity from both worlds. Paper scrapbooking is the traditional way, and best for addicted scrapbookers, because the creativity, texture choice, and dimensional appeal is so wide open. If can join a group of Close To My Heart customers, they consult, teach, and sell product. Stampin' Up! is the same kind of company. The BEST tip I can give you, is, if you were a scrapbooker but haven't scrapbooked in awhile, and short on space or supplies, look for kits that provide all that. I find the kits made by manufacturer Hot Off The Press, under the brand name Finished In A Flash, to be an excellent tool. When I hadn't scrapped in awhile, it was the pet kit that got me started. I did pets first, then a little bit of me, then my sister's wedding, now my sister's baby. Once you get started, I bet by the third or fourth theme it all starts clicking and it becomes effortless. One last suggestion, google your zip code and "scrapooking;" it's a good way to find a scrapbook boutique near you. These places hire instructors and hold weekly classes. When I'm stuck on layout ideas, boutiques, and Creative Keepsakes magazine and books get me unstuck. When I need supplies, I hit Michael's with their coupons, or attend scrapbook convention (http://www.scrapbookexpo.com/) where you can get albums for $5 and brads half off. Expo is awesome. I haven't met you so I think I covered every angle. Pick what scrapbook solution feels best and go for it! You have everything to gain!
