I am so excited about your video and I am trying to use the demo version. I can’t seem to get it to cut. I have it connected to my computer with a usb cord. What am I doing wrong?

“If you want to dramatically expand your creative potential and save a small fortune in Cricut cartridges by being able to cut thousands of free fonts and shapes, I would recommend an excellent software program called “Sure Cuts A Lot.”
To use any software program with your Cricut, you need to update the machine’s “firmware.” This is easy and FREE. Simply download a trial version of the Cricut software and use it to update your machine’s firmware following these simple step-by-step instructions.
1. Download and install “Sure Cuts A Lot”. (you have to buy this at her website: http://www.craftedge.com/purchase/purchase.html or go read more at http://www.craftedge.com/ the FAQs have lots of help)
2. Open the “Sure Cuts A Lot” program and click the gold icon with the “?” symbol. (This is the “help” feature.)
3. Select “Cricut Firmware Version” and print those simple instructions.
4. Close the “Sure Cuts A Lot” program.
5. Download and install the FREE trial version of Cricut’s Design Studio Software from this link. (Cricut’s sofware has the firmware you need and you’re just going to use the trial version to get it.) [my comment: the trial is supposed to be at http://www.cricut.com/cds/ but the link doesn’t work! So, I think the solution to this problem is to get the newer installer for Cricut Design Studio:
http://www.cricut.com/cds/Update.aspx
6. Open the Cricut Design Studio Software
7. Connect your Cricut to your computer using a USB cable.
8. Grab the instructions you printed and follow them.
9. Close the Cricuit Design Studio Software program.
(You no longer need it on your computer and you can uninstall it.)
So, if you can’t get it to work, contact Michelle at her website!
